AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

OF THE WORLD UNION OF QWAN KI DO

AND SINO-VIETNAMESE MARTIAL ARTS


The World Union of Qwan Ki Do and Sino-Vietnamese Martial Arts Association is an international non-profit sports-cultural organization, without political, religious or racial purposes and based on the value of social solidarity understood in the most inclusive sense of the term.


The World Union has as its purpose the development and dissemination of sporting activity connected to the active rational human movement with educational, training, recreational and sporting purposes.


The World Union promotes the practice of Sino-Vietnamese Martial Arts, the Qwan Ki Do School and Style, Shao Lin (Thieu Lam), Nga Mi (Wo Mei), Tang Lang (Duong Lang or Praying Mantis), Bach Hac (White Crane) and, in a broader sense, is committed to keeping Sino-Vietnamese customs and culture alive.

 

The World Union asserts the educational, cultural, historical, philosophical and pedagogical value of the martial art; the association promotes the psycho-physical and moral training of its members through motor expression as an integral part of every educational process and an essential component of the complex of human activities.


In the international framework, the World Union develops academic qualification programs through sports or interdisciplinary training courses, of a professional or amateur nature, for students, teachers and managers, insisting on the important ethical, cultural and environmental aspects of training.


The World Union organizes events, sports games and competitions in compliance with regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct and protocols that promote the ethical practice of sport, fair play and the physical and moral integrity of athletes.


The sports, academic and competitive activities of the World Union are open to all, women and men of all ages, social classes, religious beliefs and ethnic groups, without discrimination of gender and race.


At the technical and administrative level, the key function of the World Union as an international body is to support the national associations of Qwan Ki Do and Sino-Vietnamese Martial Arts around the world and affiliated to it and to guarantee the uniformity and homogeneity of technical programs and administrative structures implemented by national associations, respecting local specificities.
