                                              President

of the European Federation of Qwan Ki Do

Csongor Kozma was born on January 25, 1971, and was raised in Davos (Grisons) by Hungarian parents. After training as an elementary school teacher at the teacher training college in Schiers (Grisons), he studied theology and social, cultural and religious studies in Fribourg, Jerusalem and Bern.

He worked for six-and-a-half years in various positions at the Federal Office of Public Health and most recently as deputy secretary general of the National Advisory Commission on Biomedical Ethics. For twelve years he was secretary of the Executive Board and the Foundation Board of the Health Promotion Switzerland foundation, where he was also in charge of human resources management for nine years.

During his employment he earned an "Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in Leadership and Management" degree from the Bern University of Applied Sciences with a master's thesis in the field of business ethics.

Since August 2020 he has been Director of the "Paulus Akademie" in Zurich.

Csongor Kozma was one of the first to practice Qwan Ki Do in 1986 in the newly founded Swiss Qwan Ki Do Union in Davos.

In autumn 1987, during the first national training camp, he met one of the first and most promising students of Master Tong, Maestro Roberto Vismara, National Technical Director for Italy. That meeting marked an important turning point in his life, with events that had a profound effect on his growth as a martial artist and as a man, such as the annual summer training camps in Bertinoro while getting to know and forming close friendships with the other ranks of the Italian Union of Qwan Ki Do.

His martial practice continued in the following years, during which time he trained by himself in Switzerland and took frequent trips to Italy, all the while keeping in close contact with his Maestro.

In 1991 he opened his first club in Schiers, which he handed over to another instructor in 1994 due to the demands of his studies.

For years he was president of the Swiss union and coach of the national combat team.

He is also Secretary General of the World Union of Qwan Ki Do and President of the "Fédération Européenne de Qwan Ki Do - Arts Martiaux Sino-vietnamiens."

In terms of his competitive achievements, Csongor Kozma has won numerous national and international prizes in the black-belt technical categories, Co Vo Dao and black-belt fighting. He participated in all European and World Championships until the one in Morocco 2011, placing on the podium each time.

He considers Qwan Ki Do a school of life that has taught him perseverance  and patience to achieve all the important goals in his life, both professional and personal, and to face the obstacles that have presented themselves throughout.

If Qwan Ki Do was a school of life, the person of Maestro Vismara certainly provided the motivation and impetus to strive to become a better man, not only in terms of his martial arts but also ethically in a larger sense.
