Giam Su Gennaro Grancia

Gennaro Grancia, Italia national, was born in Stigliano on 27 June 1963. 


He has been practicing Qwan Ki Do since 1981, year of foundation of the Italian Union of Qwan Ki Do. He is among the very first “old guard” students who started from the very beginning to follow Maestro Roberto Vismara, whom he considers “my first and only Maestro”. 


He becomes Instructor already in 1985, devoting himself to the “transmission” of the martial arts and to the full human development of his students; he does so with the same degree of enthusiasm which had been featuring his personal learning . 


As a very versatile practitioner, he masters a wide range of martial techniques combined with a unique fighting spirit; these features allow him to join the Black Belt National Fighting Team in 1986.


Gennaro Grancia has been performing since 1998 as coach of the Italian Female Fighting Team; in 2002 he becomes Permanent National Advisor and he is subsequently appointed as Head of the Degree and Exam Commission for the Italian Union of Qwan Ki Do.


In 2011 he achieves the 6th Dang degree and in 2021 the 7th Dang degree, which is currently the second highest degree world-wide after Maestro Roberto Vismara. The 7th Dang degree carries with it the martial title of “Giam Su”.


Knight of the Phuong-Long Academy under the name of “Chau Quyen Long” which means the “Power of the Dragon”, Giam Su Gennaro is an historical member of the International Technical Direction of the World Union of Qwan Ki Do and Sino-Vietnamese Martial Arts; as such, he provides a vital contribution to the technical, pedagogical and organizational development of Qwan Ki Do in the world. 

 

«Gratitude» and «enthusiasm» are the words chosen by Giam Su Gennaro in order to characterize his itinerary as martial artist side by side with Maestro Roberto Vismara. 


Gennaro has been married since 1991 with Maria; they have a son, Marco and a daughter, Sara.
